Is your premise really that (because it is purported to be from a foreign country) that true facts are best left not told to the people. If so, I assume all would be fair game if it was just simply a US citizen

Facts be dambed, rigging elections be damned, knowing the debate questions in advance be damned. But it came from the russians. Oh my
