campusses have shielded the little butterflies from anything painful or depressing. Like the truth.

Whenever they encountered someone of an opposing view, they had trump cards (ironic, isn't it) like RACIST, or SEXIST, or HOMOPHOBE.

No need to debate or discuss. Just call names and declare victory.

Which is why when our current president says we need an open and honest discussion on race, um no.

It can't happen when one side sees itself and a righteous and disadvantaged victim and it sees the other side as oppressive and evil.

There is no common ground.

"You're an idiot" may win debates on a message board where you get to keep your own score, but it doesn't work well, "out there."
