You, like many others, confuse freedom of speech with freedom of consequences from that speech.
This teacher had every right to say what they did. As long as they are willing to accept the consequences of that speech. Speaking as a teacher that person should never be in front of a class again. They obviously lack the judgement for the job. There is a responsibility that goes along with teaching that you will act in a professional manor and leave many of your private feelings at the door. As a conservative in a very liberal profession it is the only way to have a calm and productive work environment. I only wish more of liberal educators were as professional.
