was an abundance of evidence, certainly sufficient to state that conclusion with reasonable certainty.

My concern is based mostly in that I am not sure we don't have a window of opportunity with this kind of talent on the roster, and if we don't capitalize on it we may not replicate this talent level again. If we start out disappointing, it may only go down from there. I think there is a lot to be proven this season, and a good conference finish and an NCAA appearance should certainly be attainable goals.

I am of the strong opinion that given the odd nature of the risk MU is taking, we were dealing with a relatively small window of opportunity of success. That closed incredibly quickly, and we are now looking at a very steep uphill battle. We are now asking Kim to long term rebuild the program via upgrading the talent. Hopefully he pulls that off, but he is very poorly equipped to do so and all of the factors specific to this job will make that increasingly difficult. When Kim was our lead recruiter, it was unquestionably the worst period in MU recruiting since at least the early 1950’s. Kim has been out of D1 recruiting since the 1990’s, he has no national recruiting pedigree or track record or development history to appeal to, and his entire body of work to reference in selling is now an atrocious product of 11 games and counting. We have almost no fan support at all, while attendance is an issue at programs around the nation we are selling an environment that is almost unique in its horribleness of apathy and in particular lack of student support and college-like environment. MU is a very difficult job in terms of bringing in and retaining talent. You look at examples like Tony Mitchell, Mike Dixon, Brandon Rush, etc….those are non-events and very productive players at 95% of programs around the nation. If you would like to find Jakeenan’s mother, you will have to look not in Missouri but back in Georgia. That would not be the case at 95% of programs around the nation, but that is simply the core factors that a head coach at MU has to deal with. Kim can still do this, but we have to recognize that there are significant difficulties facing him being successful at accomplishing a rebuild.
