First, I am so sorry to hear that. I hope she is doing well.

Getting rid of the lifetime caps was a great benefit for everyone. If everyone has to have health insurance, the costs go down or rise much slower. Actuaries can tell you that.

Let's hope Don the cheeto headCon understands that, but I doubt he has the intellectual capability to do so.
