The US has a consumer-based economy, a model that is positively unsustainable without gee, gosh, consumers.

The workforce IS being automated. No more clerks in grocery stores, no more stockers, no more management. No more mftr jobs, no more fast food workers.

So who is it again that is hiring the carpenters, the plumbers? Who is buying the homes built by the construction industry?

There are no more Uber drivers. No more truck drivers.
