In islamic countries, the extreme violent psychopathic dictator tends to rule, since they kill off any peace loving , moderate reform minded leadership.
any innovation gets crushed, since being smart, questioning is bad for your long term survival as well.
throw in woman as second class citizens, tossing gays of buildings, elderly, you end up with a society where only about 40% are able to contribute.
With inbreeding, maybe half of the 40% are capable of doing something. so, 20% useful. not good.
