Saturday it was obvious this team still has a lot to learn. It was interesting watching Phillips try to get people in position to run a set. There were several moments of confusion.
Any team we play is a challenge. People on here scoffed at the idea that WKU could give us a game. Well, Miami Ohio could give us a game too. They have a 6'2" Freshman guard, Michael Weathers, that is leading the team with 21.6/5.9/4.8. He's not doing it with 3pt shots. He's hasn't made more than one in a game this year. He's doing it by getting to the line and hitting ft's. He could have our guards in foul trouble early. Our guards have to flip the script on him. Take the game to him more aggressively. Get him in early foul trouble. I thought we should have attacked more in transition on Saturday. Hopefully we'll look for more transition buckets Tuesday, because we don't look too good in a half-court set right now. Could be a Weathers vs Hughes show Tuesday with two Freshman guards trading scores.
Go Tigers!
