when government isn't allowed to do its job.
Owner lied that they were using the warehouse for artist studio space, not for 24/7 living quarters.
Apparently faulty/shoddy wiring is suspected.
No sprinkler system. Fire extinguishers were inoperable.
Owner refused to allow access for inspections, conveniently being absent and locking the building on dates of inspections.
The only stair access to the upper level was via a stairway constructed of wooden pallets.
To take this to any type of a court for litigation for the families of those killed, the property owner would have to possess something of value worth suing him over. Good luck with that.
