Kaepernick decided years ago he didn't need to work on being a quarterback. Killed a promising career.

Kelly needs a quarterback who can make quick decisions. Neither do that well. Kaepernick is good on designed runs, and he can scramble for yards, as well, but he's always been pretty bad at moving around in the pocket under pressure. It's all or nothing. Kellys's offense (like ours now) needs a QB who can make consistent plays to keep the chains moving.
