had it been Purdue instead of Ohio State, Penn State would get in.
There's too much at stake in football to have committee. It just doesn't work. You could have 32 teams and it still would not work. 8 won't solve it, 16 won't solve it.
I remember one year with the basketball committee when Mizzou was in a down period with Dibi Ray, Danny Allouche etc in the late 90s and they we like 18-15 and didn't get selected. Who is one of the first people the networks interview? Norm Stewart!! Even having that many "ducats" for a committee to give doesn't solve it. And in football even more so. There are just so few games and there's so much at stake.
