No, his defense is not the worst on the team. It's middle of the pack on a team with modestly good defensive stats.
Time will tell, but I got the sense from him yesterday that he is probably the most mentally serious player on the team. His shooting will likely improve. He doesn't look mentally overwhelmed by the circumstances this year. He looked legitimately disgusted with himself for missing his first 4 shots.
This is going to be a rough, harrowing process, but these sophomores are either going to grow up or they're going to quit. I don't think they're going to quit.
