Not a lot of upsets yesterday, and I wouldn't even call Creighton over #5 seed Kansas a huge upset. If we had been in the Kansas bracket we would have had a fighting chance to get to the quarterfinals. They were clearly the least imposing of any of the top 6 seeds. And Creighton is a really good team, finished with an RPI of 17, a remarkably tough draw for a #5 seed. They could have/should have gotten the #16 national seed.

The 2 teams with the highest RPIs who did not get a national seed both lost yesterday in upsets, #14 Western Kentucky losing to #32 Boise State and #16 San Diego losing to #42 Baylor. The other biggest differential was #39 Pitt beating #28 Dayton. Both Boise State and Pitt were beaten by Mizzou earlier in the year.

Everything else went according to seed/RPI, and there were a lot of toss up matches.

Regarding SEC teams, was disappointed to see TAMU dismissed by SMU 3-0, but that was an even match up between teams with RPIs of 25 and 30. And the winner was going to get stomped by Texas. So Mizzou is in the sweet 16, and Florida and Kentucky have a chance to join us. Florida has at tough rematch with Florida State, but they are at home and I like their chances. Wish we had gotten their draw instead of ours. Kentucky is the next highest RPI team that was not seeded that is left in the tourney (after Creighton), at #19, and they play @ #8 seed Washington tonight. If they play like they are capable I think they can give UW a tough match and maybe pull a huge upset.

I think everything else goes pretty much according to seed tonight, if I had to pick the most likely upsets I guess I would go with:

Kentucky over #8 Washington
Ohio State over #14 Kansas State
UNLV over #13 BYU
Arizona over #9 Michigan State

Hawaii is supposed to have a really good team. They are highly regarded, finished #12 in the final coaches poll. A really tough draw for #2 seed Minnesota. I can't pick them to upset the Gophers, not after seeing Minny beat both Nebraska and Wisconsin last weekend. But Hawaii could give them a tough match.
