My thoughts on the last 2 games.

It took several days for me to even know what my thoughts were - that's how big of a gut shot that Xavier loss was, to me.
I only was able to catch the 2nd half, but man we played GREAT. The intensity and energy, the way we played, it had a March feel to it. In fact, there was a moment at the end I started to fantasize about victory, and the words 'remume win' creeped in. And who knows from there, tournaments are won when a team gets hot and gains confidence.
That game was a HUGE positive and I let it break me down. I can only imagine how the team felt.
The next game bright and early, during a work week, against a great team that got their brains beat in a day prior. My fear going into that matchup was Davidson is like a much better CMSU team. The Mules confused us too much on the perimeter and go a lot of open looks from 3. Turns out, Davidson exploited that early, built a 10-15 point lead and played even from there. We showed a lot more energy at the end, out of desperation. Hopefully the lesson this game is if you start games without maximum energy, you are going to get beat by good teams. And no else cares if youre coming off a tough loss, you're tired, not feeling well, playing at an awkward time or day...(the other team sure as hell doesn't care) ...you gotta bring it wherever, whenever.
Eh. Onward! No other choice. After a day of rest and hungry for a win, I'm excited to see this team play tomorrow. And I'm excited to see them play in Columbia!!
These guys are gonna play their hearts out for us, and for that alone, I'm on board.
