And I'm completely against that type of action in government at any level.
That being said, there is a place for fundamental religious people to state their beliefs in the scope of government. I don't agree with them at all, but I can see why people do what they do.
I wouldn't have voted for him at the top of the ticket (unless he was running against Clinton, in which case I'd likely hold my nose and vote for him.) I'm the same with Ted Cruz.
Further, the vast majority of the Pence outrage I see has to do with the funding of programs that "reprogram" gay people using shock therapy. It's abhorrent. However, it's not like he advocated for compulsory "reprogramming" of the LGBT community and the vast majority of the people in those programs are religious adults with homosexual feelings that elect to go through the program.
Again, it's awful. However, it's not nearly as bad as people want it to seem.
