ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Multiple police departments responded to a the scene of an officer-involved shooting near Wellston MetroLink station Thursday afternoon.

According to police, a 29-year-old MetroLink security guard was shot by a suspect, and a St. Louis County officer returned fire. MetroLink officials say the security guard was checking fares when he was shot once in the chest. He was armed, but did not draw his weapon, according to officials.

The incident occurred in the 6400 block of Plymouth and the guard was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His injury is said to be non-life threatening

A witness who had been on the train waiting to leave the platform recorded cell phone video of several people attending to the guard. He also described seeing the suspect run onto the train to get away after the security guard was shot and then realized St. Louis county police officers were on the train. The two officers were assigned to the Wellston MetroLink station.

"Officers chased after him and he ran around in the bushes," said Tracy Dennis. "When he got in the bushes he did turn around like he was going to do something, charge them or whatever. And they shot him just opened fire and they shot him."

The suspect was shot three times in the buttock, and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Officers recovered a gun from him.

MetroLink is not currently operating at the Delmar, Wellston, Rock Road and UMSL South Stations. Bus Shuttles are transporting passengers that are unable to use those stations. MetroLink is announcing delays for customers of up to 60 minutes. The #94 Page is not able to service the Wellston station. Customers can catch the bus at a temporary stop on Stephen Jones at Plymouth.

Alternate story:

Liz Brown was simply giving the benefit of doubt to a known street thug illegally carrying an illegal firearm, and when caught committing a petty crime, exercised his first amendment right of free speech by discharging his illegal firearm at the individual that dared to try and hold him accountable. The street thug knowing Trump voting Cop's might pursue him, simply ran for the fear of his life. Though he partially turned and pointed weapon at the cop's, this was really a gesture of his willingness to surrender. But the blood thirsty cops shot him down before he had a chance to fully turn around and raise his arms in surrender. "I bet he voted for Hillary" one cop was heard angrily yelling as he emptied his clip BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! And if the eye witnesses that reported all this to Liz Brown were miles away at the time, What Difference Does It Make!? Black Lives Matter!
