That's the only explanation. He felt in the zone after hitting that huge 3 pointer, and thought he was invincible. Sophomore mistake.
The foul on the inbounds was inexcusable. I wasn't in the huddle obviously, but I can't imagine the coaches didn't say "Don't foul" at least 20 times in the 1 minute break.
