And i agree.

But what is the point of having "electors?" Two numbskulls were on fox last night and said that alexander hamilton in the federalist papers said the electors are the last line of defense against installing a tyrant (my word).

According to whom?

We have ample examples of crazy people playing havoc with our political process. "Men" who think they are women, whites who think they are black, democrats who think they are patriots.

Why risk having a crazy person cast one of a very few ballots that will decide the future of the nation? People can be influenced, threatened or purchased to do the bidding of oh, george soros just to pick a name at random.

Please, spare me the lectures on the incredible unlikelihood that this happens. The question is why is it done this way...today?
