and I may misunderstand here, is that the article seemed to celebrate the absence of lobbyists during the transition, but overlooks that said lobbyists may actually become part of the government.

To me, this seems hypocritical. Why purge lobbyists from the transition team if you're just going to give them jobs anyway?
