(there are plenty of threads). Most there believe they're in an advantageous position due to the fact they're an AAU member.
I'm not sure how it happened but the WVU board set itself up as the go-to site for b12 conference talk--a ton of it dedicated to realignment discussion. They pull in fans from most b12 schools & quite a few from other conferences/schools. When threads focusing on realignment pop up (as they often do), they often include the pros & cons of each candidate. AAU is always included as a pro for those who have it & a strike against when they don't.
Without searching, I can say that every B1G member was a member up until the point Nebraska became one and promptly lost it. Virginia, UNC, UVA, Duke (I believe). UCLA, USC, Cal, Stanford & Washington as well.
I don't believe for a second it's a make or break whether or not to admit a school into a conference. I believe it carries far more weight in the B1G, ACC & PAC. SEC next & the b12 just wants to go back in time & have a massive do-over.
