If anyone who truly wants change votes third party then they are an idiot. Third party candidates never pull more than 10% of the popular vote. In the current system, absent a huge groundswell somewhere, change will have to come from within one of the two parties.
The Dems made sure that their outsider was rebuffed by the party elites. The GOP allowed the people to nominate theirs and he is the president elect. The GOP may not have advocated change but they did not stifle it like the Dems. The people seemed to have taken notice of that fact.
