and this is a real question, but wasn't that just the case for the GOP during (I think) GWB's second term?
I know very recently the story was that the GOP was completely ****ed because there was nobody at the local/state level that could move up.
Then Obama happened.
I imagine it will be the same for the Democrats, they have a common enemy again.
