but I think a large chunk of them saw Trump as an "outsider" who was coming to knock DC down in size.
Seeing that DC is the richest area in America (though they make almost nothing), some of these people living high off the backs of everyone else in the country wanted to keep their gravy train afloat and saw Trump as an affront to that.
Of course, I believe that they believe these things on completely false premises.
