Let the football team forfeit the game. Take away their scholarships. Throw them out of school.
Where would your football team be now? Much better off I would argue. As would the rest of your University.
Principles matter. Cowardice is eventually shamed. Eventually. Your school would be respected instead of mocked if it had taken the stand.
Cowardice in the form of political correctness has severely damaged your institution. That is a shame.
