You're going to get nothing but anecdotal stuff in the thread, but if that's what we're going for...here goes.

I run a little retail shop and I get a ton of unemployment benefits cards as payment. Way more than you'd expect in a shop like mine that is 100% discretionary purchases. Now, I can't look into these people's lives and know why they're unemployed, I just see the card and take the payment.

I probably get one in twenty people that use cards using unemployment cards. That would match up with a 5% unemployment rate (we're actually a little higher here, 7% or so) but when you figure the kind of store this is it's pretty rough, at least the way I see it. We get about the same number of the dark blue Nevada cards, which I assume is some other food assistance.

Can't take EBT, so no clue on those.

Either way, judging by the money people use to pay me...it's perhaps an issue.
