He had to endure a multiyear investigation, saw his health deteriorate considerably, have his reputation tarnished, and didn't get to utilize an automatic bid he earned to the NCAA tourney due to a postseason ban.

He actually co-wrote an entire book about how inconvenient the whole process and resulting fallout was.
