Clarkson was 2nd team All SEC in his only season at MU, and he is second all time in program history behind only Willie Smith in ppg as a first year Tiger. He wasn't wasted here. He has considerably improved his outside shooting since leaving MU, which was a weakness in his game, and was trying to learn a new position due to Pressey leaving early for the NBA. He has become a much more well rounded player as a professional, as is almost always the case.
We beat W. Virginia in the Big 12/SEC challenge. Beat UCLA. Beat NC State. Lost on a buzzer beater in the Braggin Rights game. Won some SEC road games. Swept Arkansas. Trailed by only a possession to UK in the final minute. Etc. That is while starting a freshman and Rosburg as a sophomore as our frontcourt. 5th in the nation in made free throws because of our propensity to attack the rim. Finished 6th in the SEC, and with only 23 total wins, so we didn't deserve to be in the NCAA tourney. Yes, that wasn't a very good season by MU standards. But it seems so absurdly out of reach now that it is crazy to speak disparagingly about that season, yet many MU fans consistently crap on that season and the 2012-13 season.
