insurance industry yanks them around on payments is a big part of the problem. It was over a year after our daughter was born that the insurance company still hadn't paid the pediatrician who checked her out after the delivery. The only way I learned was when the doc's admin office called and said they were going to bill us directly because the insurance company had yanked them around for over a year.

My next call was to the insurance company and I threatened to drive to STL if I didn't have proof that a check had been FedEx'd to the doc's office that day.
