Then I grew up. I am not a millennial and I don't believe in participation trophies. I always gave my best and left it all on the field.
There are social times and friendships to be had after the game is over, win or lose. It's true when you compete with teammates or when you're just an observer with friends. I've known a few professional athletes and they all had friendships and good times come out of competition, often from guys on the opposition.
There's more to it than just the game.
There's real life.
