Thanks to hollywood, everyone thinks hacking is only done by super intelligent geeky nerds using the most modern of technology. (Ok, yes, that does happen).

Podesta? Not so much. He was phished. everyone reading this probably has been. Phished is the you have a free walmart card, I'm a prince from nigeria, google has a critical message for you, etc..

Podesta was dumb enough to open an attachment on his computer lacking security software.

The attachment stole his eamil address, password.

It was far more democratic stupidity, than "genius" hacking. The person who did it was so sloppy, they left code that they traced back to him. aka, guccifer.
