That was the candidate they wanted Hillary to face.

The tape scandal and women coming forward clearly didn't happen during the primaries. Coincidence? Perhaps.

The media gave him tons of free publicity and didn't really sharpen the knives until after he secured the nomination. Coincidence again? Perhaps.

There are an awful lot of coincidences, though, particularly in light of their stated objective of helping him to win the nomination.
