'the system' is strong with significant groups of our citizens (& even more with non-citizens like pickle).
Many are on the left. Many are on the right. Many may not consider themselves aligned with either "the left" or "the right".
If the economy turns further south... as many well respected economists warn is very likely if not inevitable, the discontent could grow rapidly.
We are already in a rather unstable position at home and the international scene is rather unstable as well.
The situation is ripe for a despot to rise to power somewhere and set the whole thing off. Things could spiral out of control very quickly.
