I bought four lids..... Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Caol Ila, and Ardbeg.

I committed to one, and asked him if he had any from some other distilleries so I could take advantage of cheaper shipping costs, and he gave me a package deal. They're authentic because they're filthy from sitting in a yard or a warehouse, but I don't intend to clean them and possibly lose the patina (and the funky smell). If you check out the online pics, you can see bunches of them leaning together in a row behind the featured one.
The Lagavulin is the one that really reeks, and the date on it is 1998. The Ardbeg one really smells great too. They're braced very well and he attached mounting gear on the backs.
His address is in Elgin, so I'm guessing he lives near one of the big dunnage warehouses and picks them up cheap.
