You will not learn that in high school history or most college history either. After the horrors of the holocaust came out progressives had to distance themselves from eugenics and rewrote history to make it some "right wing" action.
The only reason Nazis were called right wing is because compared to the communists they were to the right but only barely. It is like saying Bill Clinton is to the right of Obama therefore Clinton is a right winger.
