Trump literally couldn't beat a convicted felon at this point.
Hillary had 4 federal investigations going, she's sold out to anyone with $500 to give her, she's got mental issues with lying, a cheating husband who sexually assaulted many, she broke federal rules / laws, she'll do anything to win and Trump STILL can't get close to her in the polls.
