They spin propaganda to make the league seem stronger than ever, and then they blame the "media" for the negative opinion of SEC basketball.
The fact is, this is a league that sent only three teams to the NCAA Tournament last year. This is a league that has finished sixth or worse in conference RPI the past four seasons. Yes, Kentucky is a banner program that gets more publicity than any team in the country, and there have been other elite teams (see: Florida 2014, Texas A&M last year).
But overall, there are a lot of stumbling programs. Honestly, it's up to teams like Mizzou to make the SEC competitive again. There are some good coaches across the SEC, but it's been a really disappointing league for the most part over the past few years.
