Other methods could have been used, but "time was of the essence" and this method still proved effective in restoring confidence in the financial market while not costing taxpayers a dime....
TARP ended up with a $15B 'profit'.. taxpayers recovered $441.7 billion on TARP compared to $426.4 billion disbursed’.... Granted, that was not a huge ROI, but better than any other Gummint Spending Program in my memory
