There is a book from some 20 + years ago - I read it in '94 called "The Fourth Turning". It is fascinating, pretty much foretelling a disaster that or crisis-triggering event that would befall the US in or around 200-2001. The period of crisis it would bring upon us would last some 18-20 years.
Really cool read - WAY more to it than that, dealing with Human arch-types like heroes and visionaries, traces us back to the 1700s. Pretty cool again.
Right NOW we are in a bit of a mess. It will pass. I just find all the hand-wringing an over-reaction. Now if You 90 are incapable of engaging in anything more than personal attacks using other people's thoughts, that's I guess what is.
