the last minute to look into what it takes to vote?

These elections really can sneak up on a person.

I don't think your statement that she couldn't secure an ID to use to vote is accurate. I believe it may be that she couldn't secure one in time for the election.

Other than your MIL is not on the ball, I have no idea what your point could be?
