the perception that Hillary Clinton is anything but a normal politician who operates much of the time in grey areas, outright lies in some instances, occaisionally breaks the law and uses her connections to get away with it. Anyone reaching her level when put under the microscope that she has been put under (and let's be clear, she's been put under it more than anyone else in US political history) could be accused of similar things. Moreover, Donald Trump as president wouldn't be any different. It's the political culture we've developed that incentivizes and shapes the people who reach that level. Look no further than Donald Trump who is already lying to everyone with respect to much of his agenda which, as a relatively progressive businessman from NYC he would never have embraced until figured out he could get people to love him by fulfilling their paranoid fantasies.
