2 wing spots and usually one of them comes up short. I would not expect that to be Walton. Even if they all play evenly, 20 minutes per game isn't bad.
The big factor will be the variation in lineups. Will we try to play bigger some and have Jackson and Barnett at the 3 a lot, a little, or never?
Plus one of those guys (likely Hughes) will get some of his minutes at PG.
It's just really hard to predict how it will shake out right now because we're so young and there are no established veterans that we know exactly how and how much they're going to play.
Based on what I know right now about this team...which is not enough to actually make a lineup....I'd like to see something like this.
PG - Phillips=30+ min.....Hughes=<10min
Wing - Walton=20min.....Hughes=15min
Wing - CVL=15min.....Jackson/Barnett/Geist=20min
PF - Puryear=25min.....Jackson/Barnett=15min
C - Woods/Nikko/Smith=40min
now, I'm not saying I'd play all of these guys, but the minutes come from these groups. Realistically, one of Geist, Walton, CVL needs to be all but benched. That's 20 minutes per game for the other 3 and 20 for a rotation with Jackson and Barnett.
And a little clarity for those who will argue that we can't play "big" because we don't have guys that are big enough.
Playing with 3 guards and 2 forwards/centers is normal.
Playing with 4 guards is playing small.
Playing with 3 forwards/centers is playing big regardless of how big they actually are.
