who owns multiple consumable product businesses buys the local newspaper.

New competitor introduces product to the market that is better than rich guy product. Rich guy hires doctor to make up study that new product causes cancer. Rich guy publishes fake study. New upstart collapses under allegation.

No harm done right? Free speech and all.
