Some candidates are better served to distance themselves because backing Trump could cost them their election. But candidates in districts that are almost impossible to lose can back him without fear of losing their election.

But the question still remains, what does Ryan gain from the GOP nominee losing, the supreme court going liberal for a generation, and the potential loss of both houses of congress? It makes zero sense.
