reason is that it is against God's law.
It would seriously decrease occasion of abortions.
That was actually the rallying cry back when Margaret Sanger was campaigning to overturn the Comstock Laws against artificial contraception. "Every child a wanted child." She proclaimed that women would not be getting abortions, families would be happier because they wouldn't have so many children to care for. Marriages would be healthier because the parents could be intimate whenever they wanted to be with no worries about any more children. It would eliminate teen pregnancy, and children who were unwanted, abandoned or born into poverty.
The exact opposite happened, of course. Adultery and promiscuity flourished. Divorce rates skyrocketed. Abortions soared. There were far more teen mothers and unwed mothers. More and more children were born into single parent families and poverty. In many areas most children are born out of wedlock now and in the nation as a whole the majority of families are no longer married households.
We saw a similar phenomenon with respect to the AIDS epidemic in Africa. The US and social workers screamed bloody murder about the Church fighting against the use of condoms. 'Safe sex' was the mantra and all of the experts were freaking out about the Church's stance against condoms. Some countries followed the Church's teaching, others followed the secular prescription for their ills. Much to the surprise of the experts and pundits the countries that promoted "safe sex" had far worse outbreaks of AIDS whereas those that promoted moral behavior had rates drop dramatically.
But as to the case of high school kids, surely you realize that condoms and birth control are readily available already to the high school students. Per Obamacare regulations government mandated health plans provide birth control for free. Even without the free birth control dispensed by the government health plans condoms and other forms of birth control are very inexpensive.
I doubt there are (m)any guys who can't afford a condom or 20. But that's not really an issue, they're already free for the asking.
