it was for Hillary.

In other words, he gained something from it, she didn't.

Whether or not it moves the needle a lot is yet to be seen, but at the very least it "stopped the bleeding" specifically it likely prevented more republicans from defecting.

It's still an uphill battle for him though, but he does have another debate and really anything can happen... for example a bombshell from WikiLeaks.
