murder then? Or at least a federally mandated right to deliberately kill unborn children at any time for any reason based solely upon where they live?
Are you now in the anarchists' camp... no government whatsoever? Or government just shouldn't butt its nose into whether or not parents can kill their children?o
You rightly did not dispute that our government has sanctioned the deliberate slaughter of more than 60 million innocent human beings so far since it imposed abortion on demand in 1973, but I'm surprised that you would justify it by pointing to how much money you think it saved the taxpayers.
You seem to have bought the eugenecists' lie hook line and sinker.
Of those succeeding 60 million think how many of them and the subsequent offspring you would be helping to provide for, and how many more they will spawn - and on and on........
By that line of reasoning, I suppose you think it should be open season on people on welfare and the poor in inner cities. Have all the Medicare offices put the little bastards to sleep?
And, for one who I assume prefers personal freedoms from gov't intervention, how do you justify the imposition of gov't dictate on probably the single most important decision one can make. Having, or not having, a child.
Abortion is not a decision about whether or not to have a child. Abortion is the decision to kill a child that you have already conceived. Preventing the deliberate killing of innocent children seems to be a legitimate government function to me and had been an accepted and expected government function here for some 200 years until a majority of Supreme Court Justices in 1973 decided all of the state laws prohibiting it were unconstitutional.
-- as a side note, those 60 million kids would likely be contributing to the economy right now and would have prevented the problem of so many older people retiring and too few younger people to pay the social security and medicare taxes to support them. But that's a side issue. You can't just be killing people because you think it would save you money, nor should their justification for living be because you think they would be better for the country's economy.
