that i would treat everyone equally, but not the same.
--I had a bit about how four quarters were equal to a dollar but were not the same.---
I was harder on some kids than others. Some got a hug, some got a kick in the butt. Parents were actually ok with that, as they knew i was trying to get the best out of each kid, and not have a one size fits all approach. My judgement was pretty good on who needed the hugs and who needed a kick.
Maybe i'm giving this teacher too much credit. But if that were my kid, and the teacher had demonstrated an otherwise sensible approach to teaching, and my kid was playing the fool, i would applaud the teacher and smack my kid.
