Feelings. Emotions.
You can never tell if you are cured or not. But you have to keep on spending, and keep using that particular dr.
And, like we do with education, welfare, and immigration, if it's not working, do more of it. More money. Spend more time. Never knowing if it works.
In surgery, either it works or it didn't.
Pretty good metaphor for socialists and conservatives.
