Its a combination of 1) losing and 2) playing mostly non compelling teams nobody really cares about.

I don't even care about Kentucky - we've never been their rival and never will be (Battle of the Border States???) and they field a vastly different team every year. You can't hate their players. Only Arkansas because of the Anderson connection has much intrigue as a potential rival.
