it doesn't say a lot and in any case ignores what I now consider a truth that NO one discusses, or even realizes. That there is no good solution to this situation if only because trade - which has gone on for at least 5 millenia - will continue and will invariably favor one side over the other.

I would much prefer the US make its own stuff as it used to do, and export the rest, but thats unrealistic today. It would require an ever-increasing population in the country and I am STRONGLY against that as being unsustainable and would lead to chaos and destitution for most people.
